Hello! If you have not seen the Tim Holz 12 Days of Christmas tags, you have got to check them out! Of course, I could not compete with his artistic creations, but I made a "vintage-y" looking tag today. I used glimmer mist on it, so it has a nice sheen you can't really see in the photo. I also bought some Glossy Accents and wanted to give it a try. I used it on the Dec. 25 post mark stamp.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Red and Brown Christmas
I have a quick card to share with you. I was inspired by this card; loved the brown and red look. I was so happy to find Martha Stewart baker's twine at Michael's last weekend!
The gingerbread and hot cocoa stamp are from Stampin Up! and the "joy" stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's. I embossed the background with a Quick Kutz embossing folder. Have a super day and thanks for looking!

Autumn Layout
Here is an autumn themed scrapbook page I completed recently. The leaves are clear embossed, then cut out and adhered with pop dots. I kept it kind of simple, using a collage-style layout. I did one for each of my sons' books. The background paper is so pretty, I didn't add another title. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Another Scrapbook Page Redo
I am proud of myself! I did 4 scrapbook pages this weekend! This one is a re-do. All of us evolve in our craft, whatever it may be. Sometimes I look back at previous pages and think "Ugh! What was I thinking??" Other times, I'm happy with what I've done and the feeling I captured on the page. This time, however, I felt I needed to add more than just the date, place, and event as I did originally. I also feel I can give a different perspective to the photos now than I could "back then." For example, these photos are of my oldest son when he was 5. Now he's almost 16. As his mom, I look at his precious face and think about the young man he's becoming and how much I treasure moments spent with him. I just added a little more journaling, but I like the vellum sentiment that says "Happy are the pure in heart." I think it conveys meaning about the pictures.
The background paper is from Paper Studio; the journaling block is Bo Bunny. The "E" monogram stamp is from Studio G. Thanks for looking and have a good day!

Witchy Halloween Idea
Hello! I have a cute Halloween project to share today. I made this "witchy" dish towel by following this tutorial. I didn't have any ric-rac for the bottom edge and I used buttons on the boots instead of ribbon. I thought the idea was so cute and a great gift idea. I also decorated the little jar from Ikea with a cute witch stamp from DJ Inkers.
I added a bow to the top and put M&M's in the jar. Halloween candy would look great inside, but I didn't have any on hand for the photo. : )
Hope you enjoyed this project. I am so inspired by all of the creativity out there in sewing and holiday decorating blogs! I haven't had much creative time lately; busy with school stuff! I hope to post a scrapbook page I finished soon. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Cherry card
Hello! Here is a simple card I made using a cute cherry stamp from Studio G. I paper pieced the cherries using scraps. The background is embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The sentiment is also from Studio G. Haven't had too much time to be creative with paper lately...spending time setting up my classroom, then starting school. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Quick Thank You
Hi! I have a quick thank you card to share today. This card came together quite easily...isn't it funny how sometimes you can spend so much time on a card and cannot get it to work. Other times everything falls into place exactly the way you want it. Maybe the fact that I knew exactly who I was making this card for, made it so easy. : ) All of the paper is from Michaels; I used the button embossing strip from Cuttlebug. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Clearly Inspired Challenge #16 Cute and Fuzzy
Here is my card for the Clearly Inspired Challenge: Cute and Fuzzy. What is more cute than a little white bunny?? And what can make you feel more warm and fuzzy than a hug?? I layered the bunny image to give it dimension; the flower is cut from white felt. I embossed the background paper, even though it is patterned paper, embossing gives it a little more character.
Here is a close up view of the tag and flower. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Stamps: Bunny, Provo Craft; Heart, Studio G; Ticket...I think it's from Hero Arts, but I am not sure...sorry!
Other supplies: Background paper, Paper Studio; rick rack, button, embroidery floss, Sizzix large daisy die, Quick Kutz embossing folder

3 Christmas Cards
Hello! I have three very simple Christmas cards to share with you today. They are for a project my sister is working on. : ) They are pretty basic, as you can see...a printed background and stamped image in front. Lots of blogs out there are doing Christmas in July, so maybe this fits right in! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Red and Tan Christmas Card
Hello! I have another "vintagey" (if there really is such a word!) card to share with you today. I used the same gingham background stamp I used in my last post. I stamped it with brown ink on craft cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on seam binding and used Spellbinders dies for the snowflakes. I distressed the tag with tea dye ink, too.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Clearly Inspired Challenge #15: Gratitude
Hello! Here is the card I created for this month's Clearly Inspired Challenge. I really wanted to give the card a vintage look and ended up using a lot of pink and brown. The green crochet flower gives it just a little pop of color. Supply list: craft card stock, Rouge chalk ink by Color Box, tea dye distress ink by Tim Holtz, buttons, and ribbon. Stamps used: Gingham background from The Angel Company; flower from My Mind's Eye (LOVE this stamp!!), tickets from Studio G, thank you sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps, and vintage note block from See d's. I made the green flower myself; you can see more about that here. : ) I use embroidery floss to crochet them. You can make them in any color!! Love it!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

DRS Designs July Sketch Challenge!
Hello! I made this card for the DRS Designs July Sketch Challenge. The roasting marshmallow is a DRS Designs stamp; background and sentiment stamps are from Inky Antics. I used chalk around the marshmallow to give it that campfire "glow." (It might be kind of hard to see in the photo.) I also added some stickles to the marshmallow and to the fire; sponged the edges of the layers with white ink. Thanks for looking and have a super day!

Delight in the Day Layout
Hello! I have another scrapbook page to share today. These photos are from last summer....just got around to scrapping them yesterday! This was a pretty quick page to complete. The sticker "Delight in the day" is from Deja Views. The calendar stamp is from CTMH and the background paper is from The Paper Studio. Love the bright blue colors of this layout in person. : ) Thanks for looking and have a delightful day!

Fourth of July Layout
Hello! Here is a Fourth of July layout I made today. I scraplifted the design from a page I saw on the Scrapbooks, etc. online gallery. I cut the word "happy" using the Tear Drop cricut cartridge. I stamped the word "fourth" with blue ink. All papers are from The Paper Studio. Thanks for looking and have a super day!

Scrapbook Layout "Do-over"
Hi! Today I am sharing a re-do of a layout I did a few years ago. We all have them, I'm sure...you look at a layout and just go 'ugh!' That's how I felt about this one. I don't have a 'before' pic; sorry about that...but believe me, you wouldn't be impressed!! I used the Graphically Speaking cartridge for the word "play" and the flourishes.
The family picture, including our lovely lab named Pearl, was taken on 7-7-07.
Thanks for looking and have a super day!

Summer!
Hello! Nothing paper crafty to share today (yet, anyway!) but I wanted to capture some photos of my flowers. The growing season here in MN is quite short, so I enjoy it while I can.
I didn't have to plant any of these beauties. Last year I planted marigolds and moss roses in this area and this year they reseeded themselves--I just left everything there in fall and let nature take its course. There's even a snapdragon growing there that is shades of orange and yellow.
My little 12 inch sunflowers...love these!
My hanging basket of pretty red petunias....
And finally, this pretty container of fuchsia...I've never planted this before, but it seems to be doing well. Thanks for looking...enjoy your day!

Another Retro Boutique Card
Hello! Here is another card I made using "Retro Boutique" by Gina K. I paper pieced the purses. The zig zag embellishment is cut from Plantin Schoolbook with my cricut. This stamp set has so many possibilities. We are heading out for a camping trip over the long weekend. Happy Independence Day and thanks for looking!

Everyone loves a party dress!
Hello! Here is a fun card I made using "Retro Boutique" from Gina K Designs. This is such a fun set! It just screams for paper piecing! Doesn't it make you want to put on a pretty party dress?? I used stickles on the dress (waist band and roses) and on some of the background flowers.
The background is embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Pink and Orange Combination
Here is a simple and quick card I made using pink and orange. Such a pretty combination of colors for summer. However...I think I need to look at some card sketches and get a new plan!! This card looks way too similar to the last few I've done... : ) Oh well...at least I had fun making it! I just used a sticker for the word 'celebrate' and I've had the orange paper for a long time. The button is threaded with pink embroidery floss. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Vintage Glitter Storage
Hello! I'd like to share how I store my glitter. This is not my original idea; I've seen several people share this method and I love it. I use vintage salt shakers...I have about 10 of them. I have to admit, I don't use glitter a lot, but this is a pretty way to store it. The holes on the top are big enough for the glitter to come out and it's pretty easy to control. It's also easy to collect what you don't use and pour it back into the container.
Thanks for looking and have a super day!

One more card to share...
I made this card over the weekend using the Children of the World set by Our Craft Lounge. As you can see, I got my inspiration from their idea gallery ...I changed the colors a little bit, but pretty much CASED this idea. I embossed the background paper with a Quickutz embossing folder. I used colored pencils to color the image. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!
Clearly Inspired Challenge #14: Birthday Bash!
Hello! Here is my card entry for the Clearly Inspired Challenge #14 for June: Birthday Bash! Do those candles look familiar?? I used the Too Sweet set from Clear Dollar stamps; they are actually the stamps used to make Hershey Hug candy wrappers. The candle flame is a leaf stamp from a floral set from The Angel Company. I love using black, red, and white together. I think the image has kind of a bold, graphic look. The ribbon is from Stemma and the little white tag is a Cuttlebug die. I cut the scalloped square on my Cricut using the Mini Monograms cartridge. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Sticking with yellow...
I needed another thank you card and decided to use yellow, since I had some supplies out from my previous card. The large flower image is from My Mind's Eye; the smaller flower image is from Stampin Up! The 'thank you' sentiment is from Hero Arts. The brad in the middle has some glitter on it. The card is nice and bright in person! Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Clear Dollar Stamps Challenge!
Hello! Here is the card I made for the May flower Clear Dollar Stamps challenge. I chose yellow because it is bright and springy. The sentiment is from the Tiny Scriptures set, Clear Dollar stamps. The flower is from Stampin Up, Happy Day set. I used the large spellbinders scalloped circle to create the flower shaped card. I also added a little "bling" to the center of the flowers. Thanks for looking!

Pink Thank You
Hello! Today I am sharing a thank you card. One of my students gave me a pretty pink cyclamen...and she LOVES pink. So I thought I'd use as much pink as possible on the thank you card,a nice switch, actually, since I use don't use a lot of pink in my boys' scrapbooks! I like how it turned out; sorry for the dark picture. It was too late to catch any good daylight, and I want to give her the card tomorrow. I used the mini monogram cartridge to cut the scalloped circle. The stamps are from Studio G. I added some stickles on the arrow...all of the paper is from my scraps. Thanks for looking!

Cricut Inspiration
Hello! I am inspired by all of the cool projects posted on Cricut blogs...like My Pink Stamper and Everyday Cricut (just to name a couple). I thought I'd post a scrapbook page I did last summer using the Graphically Speaking cartridge (since I haven't had time to work on anything new this week!) I am happy with this layout. I've tried to do my sons "favorite" pages since they were little. I had him write his favorites and I used the zig zag stamp from Hero Arts instead of trying to use my sewing machine.

Spring is in the air!
Such a beautiful spring weekend we are having...makes me anxious for summer and planting flowers. I was inspired my Mish's post today about her red bike and garden display. I found this photo I took last summer. I planted impatiens in my son's old rain boots...love it! Happy Sunday!

6 x 6 Album
Hello! I thought I'd share the first two pages of a 6 x 6 album I am working on. The album focuses on our family. It is definitely a work in progress. I have just a few photos picked out so far. I am using the "Laundry line" paper from My Mind's Eye. This page features our two boys, then and now. I can only look at those two happy faces and feel blessed! I used the Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge to cut the "time" embellishment. Stamps are from Studio G.
The next page, which is really first page of the album, is a family photo, along with the word "memories" (cut from Graphically Speaking as well). I cut the scalloped square from Mini Monograms. The Bible verse stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps. Those are the only two pages I have completed so far...hope to get more done soon. Thanks for looking.
