Flower market bag

Hello! How are you?
I can't believe how fast summer is flying by!
My husband and I enjoy going to our local
farmer's market on the weekends. I saw a
pattern for a cute bag...perfect to bring along to the market.

My goal was to use up some of the cotton yarn  I have on hand.
I started with yellow...but didn't have enough to both sides.

So I switched to white for the other side...
...but kept the center yellow.
The pattern is very easy!
You can find the chart here.
Thanks for checking in and have a great day!!

Gran's Garden Gift Tag

Hello! Just popping in today with a
gift tag I made using Gran's Garden from Papertrey Ink.

I sent my sister a little gift in the mail, so I decided to
pretty up the package a bit.
I used a brown paper bag from The Paper  Studio (Hobby Lobby)
added the tag and some baker's twine.

I cut the heart from gingham paper, on my Cricut, using
the Doodlecharms cartridge.
Thanks for checking in and have a great day!

Tea cups...

Sometimes when I am looking at Pinterest,
I feel like I just have to make a card...
I'm so inspired by what I see, I want to recreate it.
Does that every happen to you??
I hope so.

The other day I was looking at cards with a coffee/tea/hot chocolate
theme. I fell in love with these stacked tea cups. (Of course, I
love that they are made from gingham paper!)

I cut these images using my Cricut. I haven't made them
into cards or anything yet, but they are just waiting to
be made into something adorable!
I cut the whipped cream on the red cup out of vellum.
Check back soon...I'll share what I make with these cuties!
Thanks for checking in!

Christmas tags

Every Christmas, I find myself rushing to make cute gift
tags at the last minute. Every year I say to myself, "Why
don't I make these in summer, when I have time??"
Well, today I had a little time and decided to
make a few tags to use in December!

I decided to keep them simple...use red and white,
and only have a layer or two.
I started by cutting a bunch of tags, using my Cricut.
The tag shapes I used are from the Preserves cartridge.

I went through my Christmas stamps to find images.
Every time I look through my stamps to find something for a project,
I decide I never have to buy another stamp!! Can anyone else relate
to that?? I have so many nice images I either forget about or
just don't use! Ugh!

These are all images I've had for quite a while...

The sentiment on these tags is a little longer than the tag,
but that's ok. = ) They still look nice!
I love this stamp...it's from a set I bought at Michaels a few
years ago.
These tags were made with stamps that came with a magazine.
There are quite a few UK cardmaking magazines that come
with stamps or dies. I always check out what's new when
I'm at Barnes and Noble or JoAnn's!

With a little ribbon or bakers twine,
I think these tags will be time saver come December! Now, if
I could only do the same with my Christmas shopping!!

Thanks for checking in and have a great day!

Campin' Critters

Every Friday, Cricut offers an image set to use in Design Space
for free for a few days.
This week it's Campin' Critters.
I found quite a few images that will
be great to use in my boys' Scout scrapbooks.
Here are the images I cut:
There are so many great images to choose from, and a lot
of cute animals. I have quite a bit done in the Scout
books I'm working on, so I just picked a few things
to embellish pages I already have finished.
I've done that with other free sets that are offered, too.
If I have completed pages, I choose an image just
give  a page that  little something extra. = )
Thanks for checking in and have a great day!

Lacy Lantern

Hello! Have you seen these pretty crocheted lanterns?
I think the light shining through the crochet pattern is gorgeous!
I just had to try making one! They are perfect for a little LED tea light.

Quite a few of the lanterns I saw were made out of individual
motif's. I wanted something a little more simple...
...after a little research,
I saw this one. It uses 2 doilies.

I started with a doily I already had.

Then, made another one to match.

I stitched them together along the sides (right sides facing out), connecting
them mainly at the top of the
scallops. I wanted the sides to have a large enough opening to slide in the tea light.

I mixed glue and water (about equal parts, but it really isn't too fussy!)
and soaked the doilies in it.

I slid the ballon in the center, and blew it up, leaving the
knot on the outside. I used a 12 inch balloon.

I hung it up to dry...waiting for it to try was the hardest part!!!
When it was dry, I popped the balloon
and added a LED tea light.
Oh my gosh, I just love it!!!!

Another Gran's Garden Card...

Hello! I just love the flowers in this stamp set!! I did a little
browsing of vintage linens today and was inspired to
create this card. = )
The sentiment is from Stampin Up! Chalk Talk.
I just used inks I had on hand to create the flowers.
The background shape is cut from the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge.

Vintage Christmas

I made a Christmas card today; used a few of my
favorite things...
doily
gingham background
vintage style stamp
The branches are from misskatecuttables "jingle all the way" file.
The doily die is from Prima. I used the precision base plate for
my Sizzix...it makes a perfect cut!
Thanks for checking in and have a great day!
