Have s'more fun!

I made this birthday tag using the Inky Antics S'more set of clear stamps. I stamped the background on craft cardstock, stamped the s'more on white and adhered it with pop dots. I colored the s'more and the background with colored pencils. The sentiment says "Hope your birthday is s'more than you dream it to be!" The set also came with a Christmas sentiment, making it very versatile. : )

Taller than Mom

Halloween Card

Hello! I have a Halloween card to share today. The image is from Stampin' Up! and is from an older set---it's probably retired by now! Anyway...I love the look of coloring with Copic markers, however, they are WAY out of my budget. I have always liked using colored pencils, so I colored this image with those. I think it turned out pretty cute. I made the scalloped square embellishment following the video instructions on Dawn's website. Polka dot paper is from Stemma; ribbon from Hobby Lobby. Have a good day and thanks for looking!

Joy to You!

Hello! I had a lot of fun making this card! I used my new Doodlecharms cricut cartridge. The background is embossed with the snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder. This card has kind of a home-spun look--I like the way it turned out. Have a great day! : )

Another Christmas Card: JOY

Hello! I have another Chrismtas card to share with you today
(must be from looking at all of those sneak peaks on Nicole Heady's blog). It is based on
another sketch from Christmas Stamping All Year Long...The image is from an old
Stampin' Up! set. (I am not even sure of the name of the set because I don't own it!)
I stamped it a long time ago and decided to actually color it and use it on a card.
The background paper is from Stemma, half circle is embossed with a cuttlebug
embossing folder. Inside sentiment is from Hero Arts. Thanks for looking! : )

Snowman Christmas Card

Hello! I made this card about a week ago, with intentions of linking it to Christmas Stamping All Year Long, but never got to it! I really liked the sketch posted last week and decided to give it a try. This stamp set is from Michaels. I used Paper Studio paper. Thanks for looking!

Double Slider Card

Hello! Here is my version of the double slider card. This is an awesome card! It looks very complicated, but it is really very easy! Here is the video link from Dawn. I used black and cream cardstock. (Looks very elegant in real life!) The hydrangea stamp is from All Night Media. I printed out the sentiments on my computer because I don't have any anniversary stamps. : )
Enjoy!

Summer Card

Here is a summer card I made today. I didn't intend for it to be red, white, and blue, but it ended up that way and looks kinda neat! The flip flop stamp is from dollar spot at Target--a purchase from last summer. I used a Quick Kutz embossing folder for the white background. Sorry the photo is a little out of focus. : ) Enjoy your day!

"Cherish what makes you unique."

I did this scrapbook layout for my son's book. I love that quote: Cherish what makes you unique. It really applies to him! He makes me laugh everyday and truly has a personality all his own. : ) The patterned paper on the layout is from The Paper Studio; the word "You" is cut with my cricut using the Graphically Speaking cartridge. I printed the quote on my computer. Enjoy!

Scout Flag Layout

I am working on my oldest son's Boy Scout scrapbook this week. Here is a layout of a flag retirement ceremony. I like the way it turned out. It's pretty simple, but the pictures show how respectful the boys were during the ceremony. Paper is from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby); lettering cut with sizzix, and flag sticker is from K and Company. Thanks for looking! : )

Flower pot card

I made this flower pot card following the link on " Tutorial Tuesday" on the card of the week website...see the link on the right side of my blog. I love finding a card that I can adapt using stamps and paper I have. : ) I decided to go with a red, white, and blue theme. The insert says, "just thinking of you."

Trying a new photo!

I tried something new today--I took a photo of my scrapbook page using the built in camera on my computer. How easy is this! Ha! Then I edited the photo and realized the words are backwards! LOL! So, I used the "flip" feature to make it readable. I find it hard to get good pictures of my scrapbook pages with a camera...so thought I'd give this a try. : ) I used Fancy Pants paper for this layout and my new Graphically Speaking cricut cartridge; added the journaling with stamps. Added a little glitter, too, but it's hard to see in the photos.

Black and white card

Hello! Here is a card I made using a Sizzix texture/embossing folder. I also made the crochet flower and added a little bling to the center to give it some sparkle. "Just for You" stamp is from Hero Arts and the little tag is made from vellum, but it's hard to tell in the photo. Enjoy!

Explosion Box Scrapbook

Here is my version of the explosion box scrapbook. There are several tutorials out on the web for this project. I used the directions found here. I left some pages empty for future photos. I used My Mind's Eye paper. This was fun and easy to make. It would make a great gift.

Just wanted to share a picture of my crochet flowers. I LOVE making these! I can imagine how many I can crochet when we're on the road this summer to camping trips.

Crochet Flower Card

I've been "hooked" on making these little crochet flowers! They are so quick and easy. I have a few in my stash, so I thought it was time to do something with them. I saw the idea for this card on the Just Give Me Stamps blog. Thought this might be good for a special occasion or birthday card.

Faithbooking scripture ideas

Faithbooking is a concept that has intrigued me for the past few months. I have researched some information on the Internet and been inspired by the things I have read and seen. However, it is somewhat overwhelming--where to start, what scripture verses to use...how to incorporate faithbooking into my scrap booking. So, I decided...to just start. I found a few simple Bible verses that reflect my family photos, events, or feelings. Here is my list so far:

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31
I will bless you with incredible blessings. Genesis 22:17
I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. Genesis 28:15
God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. Romans 12:6
[Nobody] has ever seen, or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord. 1 Corinthians 2:9
God has given you all of the present and all of the future. All are yours. 1 Corinthians 3:22
God loves the person who gives cheerfully. 2 Corinthians 9:7
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Galatians 5:6
How well He understands us and knows what is best for us at all times. Ephesians 1:8
Always give thanks to God the father for everything. Ephesians 5:20
I thank God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3
Keep putting into practice all you learned. Philippians 4:9
I can do all things through Christ because He gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
God will supply all your needs from his glorious riches. Philippians 4:19
What is faith? It is confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.
-Hebrews 11:1
Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10
Give all your worries and cares to God for He cares about what happens to you. 1Peter 5:7

I first read about "faithbooking" on the Creative Memories website. Just click on the faithbooking link on the projects page.

Studio G mini cards and a Stampin Up! card

I have two projects to share with you today. The first photo shows three mini cards (3x3) that I made using the Studio G cupcake stamps. These are quick and easy to make...great for tucking in with a gift or for writing a special note to someone. : ) I plan on putting them in a little pizza box as a gift. Here is an excellent tutorial on making the pizza box and the cards: www.stampjourney.com

The second photo shows a birthday card I made using the carte postale set by Stampin' Up! (I think the 'happy birthday' stamp is from Printworks.)

Easter card

Here is a simple Easter card. I just layered the bunny on a couple of circles and added ribbon and a little glitter to the bunny's ears. I like the pink/green color combo. : )
Happy Easter!

Circle Medallion Card...

Hello! I have a few new cards to share with you. I tried my hand at making a circle medallion using my corner punch. I have seen sooooo many cool examples of these out there and this is what I came up with. Not too bad, although my spacing is a bit off. I also made a pocket card I saw on the Hero Arts blog a couple of months ago. This one turned out ok. Enjoy!

Tags and a card

These fun little tags can be used on scrapbook pages, cards, tied to a package, or even used as a bookmark. They are fun and easy to make. Enjoy!

Sunday, January 4, 2009

Here is a baby card I made using my Cricut (love that machine!!), white cardstock, cuttlebug embossing die, and a stampin' up stamp. (I took the rubber off of the original stampin' up wheel and cut the images apart into smaller individual stamps.)

Scrapbook pages

I worked on 2 scrapbook pages today; I have 2 sons, so I used the same layout, but a different color scheme for each page. The first one is done using paper from The Paper Studio. I used brads from the dollar spot at Target. The second one is done with Making Memories paper; the paper is blue--color doesn't show up very will in the picture. I used my Spellbinder snowflake dies and Doodlebug glitter paper for the snowflakes. Sorry if the photo quality isn't that great---still learning how to take a great picture of a project!!
