Doily Inspiration...

 Isn't this pretty? I'd love to say I made it, but I didn't. I was the

lucky one to find it for only .50 at the thrift store.

It's done beautifully, in fine thread and even stitches.

I love it.

I'm going to treasure it.

I'm glad it has found a good home.

Lace Insert Shirt

This a totally Pinterest inspired project! Sewing, crochet, scrapbooking...I love doing anything crafty and creative.  And if I can create something and wear it, even better! I saw this pretty shirt/tutorial for a lace insert and knew I just had to try it! You can find the full tutorial here.

I chose to use this shirt...it was only 1.50 at the thrift store and it is so cute with gray, teal, and yellow dots.  I found a pretty piece of lace for 1.00 in the fabric section. I cut the shirt down the middle of the back, as described in the tutorial and planned the placement of my lace.

 Here is a closer look at all of the colorful dots on the shirt. ; )

I pinned, then sewed the lace in place. I trimmed the lace closer to the stitch line. And here it is:

(The picture really doesn't do it justice...it is very cute in person!!) 

The best thing is, I have enough lace to make another shirt...

Halloween Doily #2

Hello again! Here's the second of my Halloween doilies...

I'm sure you've seen other versions of this pretty doily...I think it's a very popular pattern. You can find it here.

On a different note...I have to share my great find yesterday! I get most of my crochet thread at thrift stores...it's amazing how there are always a few skeins to choose from. While I didn't find any thread yesterday, I did get this great set of hooks for $1.50! The 'H' hook is missing, but there was an extra 'J' hook in the bag, along with the set.
