Jar crochet

Have you seen these pretty crocheted jar covers? There are several tutorials out there for them. I decided to give it a try.

I like the open/lacy/shell look.  I measured the distance around the jar and made a chain to match;  then did a shell pattern of dc, ch,  (4x for one shell). Pretty quick and easy!

In the winter, I love to bring lighting into the house...since it can be dark here by 4:45 in December. I use solar lights in a jar or bottle to give a little light in the windows....kind of like those battery candles people use at Christmas time. Love the look of that as I drive by and see those candles in a window! I put the solar "light bottle" in the window and at night, it gives a warm glow. These Starbucks ice coffee bottles fit well in my window. I made a pretty orange cover for this one.

Thanks for checking in and have a great day!

A little vintage crochet...

I was lucky enough to find this doily in a drawer full of linens after I got married...originally from my husband's family, I believe. I have the doily in our living room. Several years ago, my sister in-law found the original directions!

This is the second page, with directions in the lower right.
Enjoy!

2 blue, 2 yellow

I've been working on a little set of doilies...so far I have 2 of each color. My goal is to have 3 blue and 3 yellow. These little beauties will be on the tables next summer at my son's grad party.
I have plans for the flower pots that will sit on top, too.
But that is another project, for another day.

Today, enjoy the crochet goodness...

A little red white and blue!

I made this little red, white, and blue star bunting to celebrate summer.
I used cotton yarn and a larger hook (I) but you can make them any size you want!

The stars are quick and easy to make in just a few minutes.

Have a great day and thanks for checking in!
