Gingham Blanket

I don't know about you, but I love all things gingham! It has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid, honestly! I've seen cute gingham crocheted blankets on Pinterest...and have wanted to give it a try. Finally, I found the perfect pattern and tutorial!!
This is a join as you go, corner to corner gingham pattern...and it's AWESOME! I was a little disappointed with the yarn...it was a little too chunky and stiff. I ended up using a larger hook (L) to try to soften the feel of the blanket. I used lavender (darker shade of purple), white, and petunia (lighter shade of purple). It is Impeccable yarn by Loops and Threads from Michaels.

You can find the complete tutorial here, from The Patchwork Heart.
It's very detailed and has great photos!
This blanket is 7 x 9 squares...a good size for a baby blanket.
I'm planning my next one with softer yarn in shades of yellow, made to be a couch throw.
Thanks for checking in and have a great day!

Shaker Card

Hello! I recently bought 2 Jillibean Soup Shaker stamp sets. They are so easy to use! I love them! They are also very reasonably priced...which is always a good thing!! Here's a gift tag I made:
I cut the tag on my Cricut, and cut the circle at 1.473" to fit the shaker element. I can't wait to make more cards using these sets! I also bought the mason jar die, but haven't used it yet...stay tuned!!

I did a little "just for fun" crochet this weekend...I have no plans for these items except maybe donate them to a good cause. ; )
It's hard to resist making cute baby items!! Here is the link to the hat pattern
And these booties are so quick, easy and cute!
I made a few pair...
You can find the pattern here.
Have fun and thanks for checking in!

Graduation cards

Hello! It's that time of year (or maybe I'm a tad late!) for graduation celebrations! I made a couple of cards to share with you...

The first one is cut with a FREE (yes, free!!) file from lovesvg.  You could easily change the colors to make this card more feminine...I made this card for a young man, so I kept the colors as they were in the original file. I added a cloud embossed background, a few shiny stars and some blue 'speckles.'

The second card is also made from a free lovesvg file! You can find it here.  I love the way this card turned out, too! I used softer colors for a more feminine look and used a gingham embossing folder and gingham paper. Can you ever have too much gingham??? I think not!!!

I was trying to decide whether or not to add a flower for a little extra touch...in the end, I added a yellow stamped rose...but didn't get a photo of it before I gave the card.

Thanks for checking in! I hope these cards inspire you to make a special card for the graduate in your life! Have a great day!
